Road to Kadıköy on Ferry

You will most likely be staying on the European side of Istanbul. I recommend waking up early and skipping breakfast if your hotel does not serve it by 8:00–8:30 AM. Otherwise, it can slow you down and easily turn into a long, two-hour routine.

There’s no need to waste time. If you are staying near the historic landmarks, you can take the tram to reach Eminönü Pier. The ferries to Kadıköy are located right next to the Galata Bridge. Catch the first available ferry and enjoy a traditional Turkish tea with a simit—either plain or with cheese.

As the ferry moves, you will witness what feels like a living film of Istanbul unfolding in front of you. The skyline, the movement, and the rhythm of the city create an experience that no guidebook can fully capture.
