Frequently Asked Questions
How does your atourguideinconstantinople ensure priority entry to popular attractions?
Travel agencies officially registered in Istanbul, Türkiye, have advance access to, or priority for, all museum tickets. In this case, I ensure that my guests can enter the museum directly using these tickets, thereby preventing them from wasting time queuing for tickets. However, security checks are mandatory for all visitors, and museums do not grant any special treatment to anyone in this regard.
Can you provide examples of attractions where priority entry is included in your tours?
Yes, popular attractions such as museums, historical sites (Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, Basilica Cistern, Dolmabahce Palace and Galata Tower) offer priority access as part of our tour packages.
How do you manage time effectively during guided tours?
I have been leading tours in Istanbul for a very long time. It is my job to know which museums are busy at what times. Moving beyond the conventional approach to tourism, I invite my guests to visit museums at times I have determined based on my own professional experience. I have established these preferred times with a disciplined approach, designed to cover most of the year and remain unaffected even during holiday periods.
What measures do you take to ensure high-performance guiding?
All the guides in Istanbul have been describing the same tours, stopping at the same places, and even repeating the same phrases ever since they started their careers. I have developed my approach with a much broader perspective. If you were to visit the Hagia Sophia with me for 10 days in a row, you would experience 10 different tours, each with different details. Whilst you’re reading this right now, other guides are still carrying out the same tours. During my tours, I gather feedback from you to tailor the tour to your interests.
Can customize my tour itinerary to prioritize speciattractions
Absolutely! The fact that no two tours are ever the same is a mystery that will never be solved. Of course, the guests who join my tours visit the same places but learn different things. That said, on my private tours, alongside the most popular tourist attractions, I also offer my guests the chance to visit and experience places that are rarely visited.
How do you handle unexpected delays or changes to the itinerary?
There are times when I run tours almost non-stop for six days a week. Sometimes I visit the same museums twice in a single day. In short, any tour bookings you make with me will definitely go ahead, provided my guests wish to proceed. If you miss a tour or something unexpected comes up, we’ll either carry on with another tour or reschedule it for a different time on the same day and I’ll still go ahead with it.
Are there any additional fees for priority entry to attractions?
Absolutely not. All my offers listed in the current price list cover the same tickets. Therefore, there will be no difference in price. By making your booking, you will have secured these tickets directly.
Can I book a private guided tour for a more personalized experience?
Absolutely! My weekly programme also includes private tours. In such cases, I advise my guests to make their plans as early as possible and to finalise their bookings for my private tour offers as soon as they have the chance. Booking a group tour of the Hagia Sophia whilst my schedule is open automatically closes bookings for private tours. Therefore, I recommend booking as early as possible to ensure availability on your preferred dates.
How can I provide feedback on my tour experience?
You can leave feedback on any tour you’d like directly via Google Maps, by emailing me, or by filling in the feedback form on the website. Your feedback is valuable to me. Whilst others may use the feedback they receive for sales purposes, I reply to each comment individually, learn any lessons I need to take on board, and share them with all my guests via my own website.
Are your tours suitable for solo travelers?
Of course! As long as you’re keen, I guarantee that I’ll do my very best to deliver the best possible tour, drawing on all my knowledge and experience, even if there’s just one person taking part.
How far in advance should I book a tour?
If you are looking for a private tour, please be sure to contact me in advance so that we can put together a custom tour programme for you and finalise your booking together. Provided there is availability for group tours, you can easily book at times that suit you.
Can I book additional activities or excursions during my tour?
Sure! On my private tours, I offer my guests the utmost flexibility, so we’ve often changed our plans on the spur of the moment and visited other places as well. For group tours, you can book the packages I offer via my website; if you’d like to visit somewhere not included in these, you can contact me directly and, subject to my availability, we can arrange a tour to the places of your choice.
