Topkapi Palace is established on the heartland of the historic peninsula. Ottoman Sultan (Emperor) Fatih the Conqueror gave the order to build and foundations of the building completed between 1460-1478. Today it’s been a museum since April 3rd, 1924. Every year entrance fees are changing but how about now?

Today the average price for a ticket to visit Topkapi Palace Museum is 500 Turkish Lira (about 27 $ or 25 € *Exchange rate might be different when you are reading this) per person. The tickets can be purchased from the palace once you follow the line on the 1st garden. In seasons such June, the lines can be frustrating due to the crowd.

Do not let hours of queuing stop you! @atourguideinconstantinople on your corner. I have alternative solutions about the best way to visit Topkapi Palace (You can find the article from here”Everything Topkapı”)

Can I Buy Topkapi Palace Tickets Online

Unfortunately there isn’t any Website where you can purchase your tickets and the palace does not sell them online. Those sites which are listed on your search engine are working with local travel agencies so you need to find them to get yourself inside.

When word comes to tourism, likewise almost every other industry, it’s rapidly modernizing. There are Smartphone Applications, Websites, Portals now and it’s too easy to access them.

As someone who’s been working in tourism since the 2007-2008 season, I had a chance to witness most of the story.

What If I tell you that’s actually getting a little bit harder to follow all procedures. Tourism was once a service industry and these days almost everything, including travelling, is self performance. You’re downloading Apps and allowing whatever comes with that. Following their suggestions there are always tiny lines which say “You should have read”.

I will always stand by the side of interaction, organic experience and building relations. (Do not miss the article that I have shared about Topkapi Palace)

Do You Need To Book Topkapi Palace In Advance

No need. Once you’ve searched the possibilities online about visiting Topkapi Palace, there will be lots of commercials showing up.

You can scroll down and check every single one of them. Yet you have no idea about the organization skills of the companies or the crew members working with them. So it’s still experience based (Do I need to mention how you should not trust the reviews of those brands?)

If I could pick a side between you (Guests) or companies, I would choose the side of my guests in every time. Therefore, you have rights to see every option when visiting Topkapi Palace Museum:

1- I don’t mind following their Schedule. If it is the case, they are going to over charge you because of the services they’re providing (Meeting with you at the Palace, taking you in and explaining the entire history of the palace in under 30 minutes. Finally leaving you inside with your own fate.) You have to still wait for the group you’re joining, security check and ticket check. Average of the deals is about 800 Turkish Lira (42 $ – 39 €) per person.

2- You can get your own ticket at the site (Palace Ticket is only 500 Turkish Lira). There is no way to miss the ticket offices inside the 1st courtyard.

3- You can hire a local guide. In that case, near the 1st option, it will cost you almost the same amount of Money, but this time you will have a private guide and more flexible service in addition to skipping the lines.

4- Getting Museum Pass. I have already done the research about this. You can find those details in the article I have shared before.
