There is only one way in order to be able to avoid the lines of the Galata Tower and It’s being ready for possible scenarios. Here’s the list of life saving tips that those companies do not want you to know.

The Galata Tower has no separate entrance and no Fast-track option. If you’ve bought your ticket from its official website, you can get the line only for ticket check. Compared with the ticket line, it will be more convenient and doable. Otherwise you have to wait 2 times to get in.

It’s not enough, you might have to check the current traffic of the building via Google. According to my self experience as Professional tour guide, except on the weekends, it’s hard to find the crowded timelines of the Galata Tower. So If you’ve some plans for Saturday or Sunday, you might want to visit earlier such as Friday or Thursday.

How To Visit The Galata Tower

The Galata Tower is located between Istıklal Street and Karakoy. You have to find the ways to get yourself Galata district. You can see the location from here.

The most simple way to get to the Galata Tower is public transportation. It depends from where you commence your journey. If you’re staying near Taksim square, all you have to do is jump to Tram on the Taksim side of Istıklal Street and finish it until the end. Take the first alley from the left hand side and it will take you to the location of Galata Tower in 5 minutes (on foot).

So long as you figüre out the ways of public transportation, you should be OK on timing to reach the locations where you’re heading. If you’re starting from Old Town, get the Tram 1, change it on the Karakoy station and just across to Street, there’s a metro entrance called ‘Tunel’ (Tunnel). Take it and it has only one station. Therefore it lifts you from 0 (ground level) from sea level to the top of the hill.

Do not get confused, ask someone ıf you need it. After you have left the Tunnel, all you have to do: leave the station and take your first right and second right (there must be an alley to go down) and follow it until you see the Galata Tower on your right. It’s only a 5 minute distance from the tunnel to the tower on foot. If you have followed my advice about purchasing tickets, follow the line getting inside the tower. Show your QR ticket from your phone and take the elevator to the top of the tower. Here you are…
